The Club Lotus Festival was held at Donington on 13th and 14th August 2011. The hall had been rennovated over the last year, after the troubles there had been with the Donington circuit. I went on the Sunday and the weather was quite sunny. Attendance was lower than usual in the hall, due to the event moving to the Summer, when people are away on holiday. The highlight for me was having a chat Oliver Winterbottom, the designer of the Lotus Elite and Eclat. He talked about the design of the Elite and and also his work on the tail end of the Lotus Esprit X180. He also spoken about working with Colin Chapman. There was a good display of cars at the event, including a gold Lotus Esprit S2.2 and a Lotus Type 69.
