Chevrolet Corvette XP-897 GT

The Chevrolet Corvette XP-897GT, waws designed by GM's inhouse studio and was built by Pininfarina in Italy. The car was debut at the Frankfurt show in 1973. The XP-897GT featured a mid-mounted 180bhp Two-Rotor wankel engine mounted transversely, driving a new automatic transaxle being developed for the forthcoming X-body Citation. The cars was built in 6 months on a modified Porsche 914 chassis by Pininfarina. Tt was widely believed to be a precursor of the next-generation Vette.
